Sat, 11 July 2009 ![]() When we learn languages, we sometimes think about the future. How much will we learn, how fluent could we become. Will we even keep learning? What will we do with our language study? Looking into the future is always difficult. We don't know what will happen. However, we can make plans in the present that may change, but at least we have thought about our desires and hopes for language, and we may achieve or surpass them. Even if we don't achieve everything we want to, by making plans, we may discover things we never thought about. Speaking. Maybe we will find many more opportunities to speak. Travel, Internet, presentations, making friends, lectures... Writing Maybe we will find some forms of writing really inspire us: translation, poems, letter writing, short stories... Listening Maybe we can find some fantastic listening opportunities: visiting friends, travelling, new radio stations, lectures, theatre, film.. Reading Fantastic books, online libraries, travelling, e-mails, brochures, newspapers and magazines... So, let's try to look over the horizon a little.
